Passport & Visa Requirements

Passport & Visa Requirements for Tanzania

Thank you for booking your adventure with Kilitop Adventure! We are excited to welcome you to the United Republic of Tanzania for an unforgettable experience.

To enter Tanzania, travelers are required to have a valid passport and a visa. There are two main ways to obtain a Tanzanian visa: Visa on Arrival and eVisa.

Visa on Arrival

If you are arriving in Tanzania within two weeks of your travel date, you may opt for a Visa on Arrival, provided you are eligible. Upon arrival at the airport, you will need to complete a visa form and present your passport at the immigration counter. Please ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months from the date of entry.

The visa fees are as follows:

  • US Citizens: USD 100

  • All Other Countries: USD 50

eVisa (Online Visa)

For convenience, you can also apply for a Tanzanian visa online before your trip. The official Tanzania Immigration website is: https://eservices.immigration.go.tz/

To apply for an eVisa, you will need to:

  1. Provide your basic information, including email, passport number, country of issue, and a security question with its answer.

  2. Complete the online visa application form with accurate details.

  3. Upload supporting documents, including:

    • Passport-sized photo (JPEG/PNG, max 300KB)

    • Passport copy (JPEG/PNG, max 300KB)

    • Any supporting documents (PDF, max 1MB)

  4. Submit your application and track its status online. Visa processing usually takes around 15 days, so please apply well in advance.

Important: Always apply for an eVisa through the official Tanzania Immigration portal to avoid fraudulent services.

Vaccination & Health Requirements

  • A negative COVID-19 test may be required, taken within 72 hours of arrival.

  • Yellow Fever vaccination is mandatory if you are traveling from, or transiting through, a high-risk country for more than six hours. You can check the high-risk regions here: CDC Yellow Fever Map

Visa Exemptions

Not all nationalities require a visa to enter Tanzania. For the full list of countries exempt from visa requirements, please visit: Tanzania Immigration Visa Guidelines
