4 Days Tanzania Family Safari
Day 1: Arusha/Moshi → Tarangire National Park
You will be picked up at 8:30 AM from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi and begin your journey to Tarangire National Park, carrying a packed picnic lunch for a full-day game drive. Tarangire, Tanzania’s third-largest national park, is renowned for its striking baobab trees that rise dramatically across the landscape, creating a unique contrast with the wildlife that roams beneath them. The Tarangire River acts as the lifeline of the park, attracting one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, especially during the dry season. As you explore the park, you may encounter a wide range of animals including lions, leopards, cheetahs, lesser kudu, buffaloes, oryx, elands, giraffes, and zebras. After an exciting day in the wild, you will head to your camp or lodge where a warm and delicious dinner will be waiting for you.

As you travel, the scenery opens into vast, endless grasslands that give the Serengeti its legendary reputation. Known as one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries on Earth, the park offers unmatched opportunities to witness nature at its finest. Upon arrival, you will embark on an afternoon game drive across the expansive plains, where you may encounter massive herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles grazing freely, as well as prides of lions resting under the shade of acacia trees. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed during your full day of exploration. As the day concludes, you will head to your accommodation for a delicious dinner and a restful night surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park → Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After an early breakfast, you will set out for a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, making the most of the golden hours when wildlife is most active. This is a great time to spot predators returning from a night of hunting or grazers beginning their day across the open plains. Later, you will depart the Serengeti and begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, carrying a packed picnic lunch to enjoy along the way.
As you arrive at the crater rim, you’ll take in the breathtaking view of the Ngorongoro Crater—the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and one of Africa’s most extraordinary natural wonders. Its vast floor, dotted with lakes and water sources, supports an estimated 30,000 animals, making it one of the best wildlife habitats on the continent. After admiring the views and absorbing the fresh highland air, you will head to your lodge for a warm dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater → Arusha/Moshi
Your final safari day begins early with a quick breakfast before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater around 6:30 AM. The crater is the world’s largest inactive and unfilled volcanic caldera, spanning roughly 260 square kilometers with a depth of over 600 meters. Its enclosed ecosystem creates a wildlife-rich haven, making it one of Africa’s most remarkable safari locations.
During your 5-hour game drive on the crater floor, you’ll have the chance to observe an incredible concentration of wildlife. Elephants, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, lions, cheetahs, and even the rare black rhino can often be spotted here. With animals active in the cool morning hours, this is an ideal time for photography and unforgettable sightings. After enjoying your picnic lunch beside the scenic Hippo Pool, you will begin the steep ascent back to the crater rim and start your return journey.
The drive back to Arusha or Moshi takes approximately four hours. You will arrive by late afternoon, where your guide will drop you at your preferred location.
